Sharing the photo, Diya wrote on Instagram, “I remember the screams of ‘Diya Mashi’ filling the corridors of my house in Mumbai whenever Tanya came to visit. She carried with her an innocence that could sometimes be mistaken, a smile that was always contagious, a curiosity that deserved to be encouraged, and a special kind of love that I will forever hold in my heart. I know now, like everyone who knew her, that I will miss being loved unconditionally by her. Tanya was like my first child in many ways.

“Although she was never easy, she always had us and I have to believe that she always knew it. Listening to her, guiding her, spoiling her, reprimanding her and scolding her were all the joys she allowed me. A smile and a tight hug. To her, I am very grateful. .”

I don’t expect it to ever make any sense. All I know is that every time I see something beautiful, it reminds me of her. She Had special gifts, she sang, she wrote so beautifully, she could create magic with her brushes. As a child she painted on canvases, growing up she made the human face her canvas. Never wanted to change what was inherently beautiful about a person. Always wanted to bring out the best in them… it was… She was a gift. She was wise beyond her years and had a depth of understanding of human emotions beyond her years. I know she will always be remembered by everyone who truly knew her. Tanya will always be with us. I believe there is. I pray she rests in peace… Love you always Tanu ma thank you for the joy you brought to our lives.”
