Sources said Delhi Minister Satyendar Jain, who is currently in judicial custody in a money laundering case being investigated by the Director of External Affairs, was transferred on Monday to LNJP Hospital here, and his condition is stable.
Jain, 57, was arrested by the Department of Enforcement on May 30 under the criminal sections of the Money Laundering Prevention Act (PMLA).
“He was brought from Tihar Jail to GB Pant Hospital first, then transferred to LNJP Hopsital. His condition is stable,” a source told PTI.
Jain, a minister without portfolio in the Kejriwal government, is under investigation by an agency of the SPLA for alleged dealings with hawala. In April, the CEO attached assets of Rs 4.81 crore to the Jain family and businesses “usefully owned and controlled” by him as part of the investigation.
