Congress defamed Veer Savarkar: Yogi

Yogi pointed out that the Atal Bihari Vajpayee government has installed a statue of Savarkar in the cellular jail of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. But the Congress government removed it.

Lucknow: Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday accused the Congress of abusing freedom fighter Vinayak Damodar Savarkar and asserting that his ideology is still relevant today.

Yogi Adityanath expressed these views when he released the Hindi version of ‘Veer Savarkar: The Man Who Could Prevented Partition’ by Uday Mahurkar and Chirayu Pandit.

Addressing the meeting, CM said that if the Congress had accepted Veer Savarkar’s suggestions, the partition of India would have been avoided.

“Veer Savarkar thought only of India’s prosperity. CM is now embracing his vision of India.

Yogi Adityanath told the assembly about removing loudspeakers from mosques and temples across the state.
