The Marvel Cinematic Universe is the largest cinematic franchise in history. As of June 2022, it includes 28 inter-connected films (Thor: Love and Thunder are 29th) and seven web series. In total, all MCU films have grossed over $ 25 billion to date. But Christian Bale admitted he didn’t know anything about it when he signed up to compete with Tyka Waititi-directed last year.

Speaking to TotalFilm, the Oscar winner said, “It didn’t enter my head. I was reading it and people were going, ‘Oh, look at this! They’ve entered the MCU! ‘ And I go, ‘What have I done? I didn’t get into shit, thank you very much. ‘ I was like, ‘MCU?’ I had to ask what it was.

The actor said that in the comics, the Christian character, Gore, was completely naked, and that he was worried that director Taika Waititi would hear from him in a live-action adaptation. He said, “I made the mistake of Googling him and oh no! [In the comics] He runs on the G-string all the time. And I thought, ‘They don’t have the right person for it!’ And then Tyka quickly dismissed any ideas of running into it.

Thor: Love and Thunder will be released in India on July 7, a day before its global release. The movie is part 4 of the MCU. Chris Hemsworth has returned as the eponymous God of Thunder, hinting that this may be his last Marvel movie.
