China’s J-7 jet crashes in Hubei setting houses on fire; 1 killed, pilot safe

In the third plane crash in 2 months, Chinese Air Force J-7 aircraft crashed in central China’s Hubei province. According to reports, an accident occurred while training near Lahoukou city airport, several houses were set on fire. The Hong Kong-based South China Morning Post cited Chinese official media reports that the pilot was parachuted from the plane and sustained minor injuries. Some reports say one person was killed and 2 injured in the incident. Videos surfaced on social networking sites showing several homes on fire at the scene of the crash.
