The Indian Premier League franchisees, China FC, announced on Wednesday that it has signed Iranian defender Vava Hakhamaneshi as the Asian player ahead of next season.
The 6’6 defender’s last stint was with Thai club Ratchaburi Mitter Phul, where he made three appearances in the AFC Champions League.

Hakhamaneshi participated in many clubs in the Persian Gulf Pro League which is the first league in Iran. He participated in 59 matches, and participated in clubs such as Naft Tehran, Traktor FC, and Sanat Naft. The Iranian even won the Persian Gulf League title with Foolad in 2013-14.
“Vava Hakhamaneshi is a great addition to our team. Having played in the Iranian Premier League and the AFC Champions League, he will be aware of the challenges that lie ahead.”
The veteran central defender also played 60 matches in the Iranian second division with Khounieh Bakhounieh and Fajr Sebasi. “I feel proud to join the team to represent Chennai. I will fight with all my might for the pride of the city and the people,” said Hakhamaneshi after joining Marina Matchans.
