Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday said it was an opportunity for Champavwat to lead from the front on his Uttarakhand growth journey, as he battled for his counterpart Pushkar Singh Dami in the rally circuit heading towards a tour on May 31. Although the BJP scored a significant victory in the February assembly elections of Uttarakhand, Dhami lost from a final seat. However, the party appointed him as Prime Minister, which necessitated his election as the KLA within six months to continue in that position.

BJP’s Kailash Ghettori, who won from Champawat constituency, vacated his seat to make way for Dhami. For the first time since it became a district in 1997, Champagians had a chance to elect a Prime Minister and not just an MLA. You should not miss this opportunity. Adityanath said at a campaign rally in Tanakpur to rally support for Dhami.

“Chepawat is fortunate that the election of the Prime Minister is in her hands. It is an opportunity for Champawat to lead from the front in the journey of developing Uttarakhand. Adityanath commended Ghettori for vacating his seat saying he showed his foresight.

“Under the young and energetic leadership of Dami, all aspirations of the state in terms of job generation and development of tourism to its fullest potential will be fulfilled,” said Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. Ghettori and BJP President Madan Kaushik also joined Dami and Adityanth for the Tanakpur roadshow.

In opinion polls in the House of Representatives in February, the BJP won 47 out of a total of 70 seats, but Dhami lost from the finale — the seat it won in the 2012 and 2017 General Assembly elections.
