The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday credited its victory in the assembly’s latest poll to a combination of ‘MY’ factors – Mahila (women), youth and Yojana (welfare schemes) – a play on words referring to its traditional rival Samajwadi Party. ‘Muslim Vote Bank and Yadav.
The BJP had recently scored victories in the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur.
At the meeting of National Office holders in Jaipur on Friday, the BJP said 46 per cent of women in Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand voted for the party due to schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Ujwala Yogana, Ayushman Bharat, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Swatch Bharat Abhiyan, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, president Ministers Kisan Saman Nidhi, Pradhan Mantri Sahaj Baigli Har Ghar Yojana Subhagia, Jal Jeevan Mission, Pradhan Mantri Vasal Pema Yojana, etc.
Meanwhile, BJP National General Secretary Vinod Taud told reporters that the party will celebrate eight years of Narendra Modi government on the theme of “Sawa, Sushasan Aur Gharib Kalyan (Service, Good Governance, Welfare of the Poor)”.
“All union ministers will visit villages across the country to interact with the beneficiaries (from the welfare programmes) and stay there overnight,” Taud said, adding that the exercise aims to take people’s views.
Praising the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the party’s victory in assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur, Taud said people voted for the BJP above all considerations, including class.
In a statement, the party said that when Modi took office in 2014, he “faced enormous challenges from day one itself” because the electoral mandate “came against a background of severe political paralysis, corruption, nepotism and blatant dynastic politics by the UPA government”.
“Due to the mismanagement of UPA, the people of India have lost their faith in democracy and the capabilities of governments to deliver. Narendra Modi’s massive mandate has reignited people’s faith in our democratic fabric. It has also sowed seeds of hope among Indians that decisive, inclusive and compassionate leadership that meets the aspirations of the people is possible.”
She said, “History will remember Prime Minister Modi as an example of kindness and compassion. This is because a large number of Indians are getting quality and affordable healthcare thanks to Ayushman Bharat PM-JAY. The PM-BJP (Pradhan Mantri Bhartiya Janaushadhi Pariyojana) program included affordable medicines, This has resulted in huge savings for the poor, middle class and the new middle class. The falling prices of braces and knee implants have given countless Indians a new lease on life.”
The statement also highlighted “the regional imbalance that has been the curse of our country’s growth trajectory.” “Prime Minister Modi has dedicated his mandate to ending this. For the first time ever, the concept of aspirational regions was introduced allowing detailed attention to regions remaining on the margins of development. Now, under Prime Minister Modi’s direction, the nation is looking at ambitious blocks. The Northeast, which was known in the Previous to violence and siege, it is now known with a record development. The number of visits by the Prime Minister himself and ministers to the region is at an all-time high.
He also credited the colossal results of Modi’s “India First” foreign policy. This has increased investment and strengthened relationships between people. It has redefined dealing with expatriates and made them integral pillars of India’s external relations,” the party said.
The party also expressed its concern about the crime situation in Rajasthan. BJP spokesperson and MP Rajivardhan Rathore, who shared details of the party’s decision on Rajasthan, said the state had become a “crime hub in the country”. “On the one hand, Rajasthan tops the crimes against women, and on the other hand, it ranks lowest in the implementation of social welfare programmes,” Rathore said.
