On Friday, 11 people were arrested by the crime branch of Bengaluru police for their involvement in the fake stamp paper racket. The accused are said to be printing and selling banned stamp papers of various denominations and the police have seized all the fake stamp papers.
On Friday, Bangalore Police took to social media and wrote: “Congratulations to @CCBBangalore team for arresting 11 people who were printing and selling fake stamp papers in Revenue Bhavan premises. Fake stamp papers of different denominations of value ₹5 lakh have been recovered. (Sic)”
Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Raman Gupta said that an investigation has been launched into the whole nexus of fake stamp papers and they are also tracing those who bought them.
According to a Deccan Herald report, Naveen Kumar, head constable, was sent on a decoy operation on July 18 to buy fake stamp papers from the accused. Naveen Kumar reaches a man named Karthik and Karthik takes him to Vishwanath’s shop. Who is Karthik’s father, where a deal is made to buy fake stamp papers from a father and son duo. Naveen was told to collect the stamp papers the next day and the CCB team raided the shop and arrested the accused.
Police have alleged that they are creating and circulating illegal property documents using fake stamp papers. The use of physical stamp paper to register any property is prohibited in the state of Karnataka

After Sanjay Raut’s arrest, wife Varsha has been questioned by the ED
The Enforcement Directorate on Saturday issued summons to Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut’s wife Varsha, who was arrested in the money laundering case related to the Patra Chal scam. Apart from Varsha Raut, the ED has also charged Praveen Raut, former director of Guru Ashish Construction Pvt Ltd, whom the agency has described as a frontman of Shiv Sena MPs in the Patra Chaal scam. He is in the custody of the investigating agency till Monday.

Karnataka CM Bommai cancels Delhi visit after Covid+V test
Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai said on Saturday that he has tested positive for Covid. He contracted the virus for the second time. Bommai gives instructions for time bound implementation of Jal Jeevan Mission
Karnataka Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai on Friday instructed the officials to implement the Jal Jeevan Mission project in a time bound manner as it is an ambitious project. Speaking at the ‘Disha’ state level review meeting, Bommai highlighted the total number of tap water connections in the southern state. Last year, 19 lakh households were connected with tapped drinking water. On an average, 7000 homes are being connected every day, said CM Bommai.
