Mishfigur earlier made the most important contribution to Bangladesh’s innings on day four when he hit 105 of 282 balls before being bowled by Lasith Emboldenia in the third round of the final round. Soccer player Kason Rajetha led Sri Lanka’s bowling attack with a score of 4-60, playing the match as a substitute for Vishwa Fernando’s concussion.
Rajetha sent off both Leighton Das and Tamim Iqbal on the first and second balls after lunch before Asitha eliminated Fernando Shakib Al-Hassan for 26 to halt Bangladesh’s lead. The hosts were hoping for some quick kicks ahead of a potential announcement after Liton and Mushfiqur survived the opening session of the day to share 165 rounds in the third wicket.
But Liton fell at 88 right after the break chasing Rajetha’s ball out of the out stem only to overwhelm goalkeeper Niroshan Dhikwila. Tamim, who retired after scoring 133 points on the third day, returned after Leighton was sent off but only survived one ball. Rajita swung the ball sharply to rip off the middle torso as Tamim finished off his impressive 218-ball innings that included 15 limits.
