Bangalore Go 4th; Gujarat Still Top Despite Loss

Royal Challengers Bangalore scored a clear victory over Gujarat Titans by eight wickets in the Indian Premier League.

GT captain Hardik Pandya’s 62nd run hit was backed by David Miller’s 34th and Redhman Saha’s 31 innings in Gujarat helped put together a total of 168 for a loss of 5 wickets.

RCB shooter Josh Hazelwood got two blades while Wanindu Hasaranga and Glenn Maxwell were responsible for sending them both off.

Bangalore’s opening pair of Virat Kholi and Faf Du Plessis scored 73 points from 54 deliveries and 44 from 38 deliveries in a row before Glenn Maxwell’s 40-kick offensive secured a Bangalore home run with all points on display.

Despite the loss, GT remained top of the table with 20 points, followed by Lucknow Super Giants with 18 points. Both teams closed their berths in the annex.

Delhi Capitals is fifth in the standings with 14 points from 13 matches.

Kolkata Knight Riders (6), Punjab Kings (7) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (8) are all tied by 12 points and are separated by running rate.

Chennai Super Kings is ninth in the standings with 8 points from 13 matches, while the Mumbai Indians, who are in last place, complete the standings with 6 points.

Gus Buttler still leads the race for the orange hat with his 627. LSG captain KL Rahul is trying to catch up with Buttler after scoring 537 points this season.

His LSG teammate Quinton de Kock comes in third with 502 hits to his name.

Faf du Plessis climbed to fourth in the standings thanks to his innings against the Gujarat Titans of the night.

DC’s David Warner completed the top five list with 427 runs.

Spinner RCB Wanindu Hasaranga rose to the top of the wicket-takers ratings with 24 wickets from 14 matches.

RR spinner Yuzvendra Chahal comes in second with as many wickets as Hasaranga having played one match less. Bowlers are separated by their economics.

Punjab tailor Kagisu Rabada has 22 parcels and stands third on the table.

SRH Imran Malik has scored 21 wickets this season and finds himself fourth in the world rankings.

DC left-hander Kuldeep Yadav has racked up 20 wickets this season and ranks fifth on the wicket takers list.
