Mexican Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrad said tens of thousands died in the truck on the way to the Mexican consulate.

At least 40 people were found dead in a tractor-trailer in San Antonio, Texas, according to news agencies.

KSAT Television in San Antonio reports that 42 people were killed inside a truck during an immigration trafficking attempt in South Texas. According to local media reports, the truck was found near a railway station in a remote area on the city’s southern outskirts.

San Antonio police have not yet made an official statement on the incident.

Meanwhile, Mexican Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrad said the Mexican consul was on the way to where dozens of people were killed in the truck. Ebrad said in a tweet that the nationality of the victims is still unknown.

“Tragedy in Texas. Reportedly choked on trailer box. Consul on the way to the point. Condolences to the victims and their families. We don’t know nationalities yet, ”he wrote on Twitter.

The Mexican General Consulate in San Antonio said on Twitter that if there were any Mexicans involved in the incident, they would help. It said Consul General Reuben Minutti was going to the event site.
