AirAsia India announced on Thursday that it is offering a significant discount on excess baggage charges for passengers traveling on connecting international flights until June 30. Passengers connecting on international flights from domestic AirAsia India flights can now pre-book their excess baggage at a significantly reduced rate of 100 rupees per kilogram, compared to the standard excess baggage fee of 450 rupees per kilogram when booking online and 500 rupees per kilogram when booking at the airport. This discounted excess baggage fee can be booked up to 2 hours prior to domestic flight departure. AirAsia India does not operate any international flights. You are only operating domestic flights at this time.
AirAsia India is owned by Tata Sons Private Ltd with a majority stake of 83.67 percent, the remaining stake with AirAsia Investment Ltd (AAIL), part of Malaysia’s AirAsia Group. Last month, Tata-owned Air India sent an offer to the Competition Commission of India (CCI) to acquire AirAsia India.
