Adhir Ranjan’s ‘Raavan’ jibe after Amit Shah linked Cong protests to Ram temple | Latest News India

Amit Shah on Friday linked the black-clad Congress leaders’ protest against Prime Minister Modi’s laying of the foundation stone of a Ram temple on this day in 2020 to the party’s “appeasement” politics.

The Congress on Saturday hit back at Union Home Minister Amit Shah for linking the party’s protest with Ram Mandir Foundation Day, accusing the BJP of trying to divert the attention of the common people by invoking their only weapon, ‘Rama’.

Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, who took to the streets in black on Friday against rising prices and unemployment, were arrested by police in a dramatic clash outside Parliament and the AICC headquarters in New Delhi.

On this day in 2020, Shah linked Congress leaders’ black-clad protests on the issues of price rise and unemployment with the party’s politics of “appeasement” to convey opposition to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s laying of the foundation stone of the Ram Mandir.

Reacting to Shah’s statement, Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary said, “The party is protesting that they (BJP) cannot tolerate the astronomical price hike and unprecedented unemployment rate.

This government is worshiping ‘Ravana’ in the name of ‘Rama’. People are suffering under his rule. Congress has exposed this government as anti-people and pro-corporate,” news agency ANI quoted Chaudhary as saying.

Earlier, Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh accused the government of a desperate attempt to “distract, distract, polarize and give a malicious twist” to the democratic protests against the price hike.

“It’s only a sick mind that makes such bogus arguments. Clearly the protests have hit home,” he tweeted.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said that the path shown by Lord Rama is to fight inflation which is hitting the poor and middle class across the country.
