The daily number of Kovid-19 in India dropped slightly on Friday as 2,259 new infections were reported in the last 24 hours. The total number of cases in the country has increased to 4,31,31,822 since the epidemic began in 2020, according to the health ministry’s dashboard. In the past 24 hours, 20 Covidi patients have died and 2,614 have recovered, with the cumulative count of death and recovery reaching 5,24,323 and 4,25,92,455, respectively.
Active cases in India fell to 15,044 compared to 15,419 on Thursday. Currently active cases account for 0.04 per cent of caseload.
On Thursday, the country recorded 2,364 infections, 2,582 recoveries and 10 deaths.
On Wednesday, 1,829 infections, 2,549 recoveries and 33 deaths were recorded. This is the second consecutive day that the daily number is less than 2,000 after 1,569 infections were reported on Tuesday.
The total number of tests conducted for Kovid-19 is more than 84.5 crores.
The total number of vaccination coverage in the country has exceeded 191.91 crore in the last 24 hours, giving 15.12 lakh doses to eligible beneficiaries, the health ministry said on Friday.
