A 35-year-old man has been killed and three others injured in the shooting death of a Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) woman councilor in connection with a property dispute within 100 feet of the B-section police station. In Amritsar.
The deceased have been identified as Gurpartap Singh, alias Raja, and the wounded are his friends Rishi Chaudhary and Jaspreet Singh, and a laborer, who is yet to be identified.
The video of the incident is also viral, and it is said that a police party appeared at the scene of the shootings. Jaspreet alleged that the accused had assaulted him in the presence of the police.
Sources said the deceased was running a vegetable shop in the area. There was a dispute between Raja and Charandeep Singh and alias Bhabba, whose mother Dalbir Kaur is a defending councilor. In April, Babba and his mother, AAP, led by Amritsar Mayor Karamjit Singh Rintu. Earlier, Bubba was a close associate of former Congress minister Navjot Singh Sidhu.
The shop-related case is also under consideration in local court. “On Saturday, Bobba came into the store with his 12 helpers and started behaving inappropriately. We called the police. After a while, Bobba fired his pistol. A few shots hit Raja and Rishi. A worker will be shot. Baba’s other companions attacked us with sharp weapons. I was also injured in the attack, ”Jaspreet said.
Raja had repeatedly told the police about Baba’s threats but the police had not taken any action, he said. We asked the police to cancel Bobba’s arms license. The police administration is responsible for my friend’s death. ”
“The shop belonged to Raja’s grandfather, but Bobba was trying to encroach on the property,” he said. Police sources said the accused fired six bullets.
Amritsar Police Commissioner Arun Pal Singh said the incident was the result of a property dispute. He said one of the accused, Charandeep Singh, was the son of a female councilor.
Assistant Police Commissioner (Pre-ACP) Manjit Singh said that Baba was surrounded and his teams were working to identify all the other accused. Another police officer said that Bubba and his aides were being prosecuted under Section 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act.
The AAP councilor tried repeatedly but was not contacted.
